ORIOLE ADVOCATES CHALLENGER BASEBALL
SUCCESS STORIES
-- Renee Pope - Mother and Coach
- As a mother and now coach for Challenger baseball, I want to take a minute to tell you all thank you. My son has autism and he first got the opportunity to come down to see the Baltimore Orioles in 2011 thanks to Orioles Advocates. Ever since then he has been a die hard O's fan and has made all of us fans as well. The opportunities you give the are amazing and to see his face when we come to the games is priceless. He had the chance to do the fantasy camp and loved it. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for seeing these kids as just that kids. You and the Baltimore Orioles truly are angels! Thank you for all you do.

- I cannot express how awesome Thursday May 14th was! I have received texts, emails, and in person compliments of appreciation from staff and teachers. Thursday was a very special day. Unfortunately, prior commitment kept me from attending but I hear the children had a blast and everyone enjoyed the games and food. Also, those who attended Challenger Day the 16th at Camden Yards had an incredible experience. Both events have been priceless gifts for our special Baers! Please extend a huge thanks to all your volunteers for their time and energy. We so much appreciated it. If we could do this again next year we would love it.
-- Jennifer Descoteau – Director of Development, The William S. Baer School
- Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for the generosity with the tickets and gifts for our Challenger athletes from Lancaster. Everyone had a great time and the on field experience was awesome! Thanks for all you did to make it happen!
-- Darin Duh – Lancaster Challengers
- I want to tell you what a great time we had tonight at the Orioles game. The families really loved the new section and the shirts and foam fingers. It was the perfect night for baseball. What a great game. Thank you again for all you and the Oriole Advocates do. Nate was totally beside himself at being on the field. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
-- Debbie Rohlwing – Parkville Conquerors Challenger League
- The Oriole Advocates have given a tremendous amount of assistance to the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks’ Baseball programs for individuals with disabilities. Consistently, over many years, they have graciously and generously fulfilled our program’s needs such as providing uniforms, equipment and accessible bleachers. The Advocates continue to enhance and build our programs by providing refreshments, giveaways, awards and scheduling the Oriole Bird for visits to our ball fields. Additionally, they contribute tickets for our participants and their families to attend an Oriole game every year, which has become a favorite highlight of our participants’ baseball season. The Oriole Advocates are a true treasure.
