of the Oriole Advocates

The Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides financial and in-kind support for charitable organizations that encourage and stimulate an interest in baseball at all levels for individuals of all abilities.

Since its creation in 1987, the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation has provided funding for uniforms and equipment, as well as funds for startup programs and projects, stadium seating, tournament expenses, mentoring programs, baseball clinics, and the training of coaches and umpires. Major projects funded by the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation include the Oriole Advocates’ Cardboard to Leather®, Challenger Baseball, and scholarships for both community college and high school players. During its existence, the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation has made donations totaling more than $1 million to over 200 different organizations.

In Aruba, a boy in the foreground is bending over a box of gently used baseball gloves from a shipment of donated baseball equipment through the Oriole Advocates Cardboard to Leather program. He is sorting through the box, looking for the right glove for himself, with other underpriviledged children standing by waiting their turn.
