Oriole Way Award

Honoring players who contribute
on and off the diamond

Created in 2012, the Oriole Way Award recognizes the contributions and achievements of Oriole players and coaches on the field and in the community. Formerly known as the “Favorite New Oriole” award, nominees are presented by the Orioles and voted on by the members of the Oriole Advocates. The award is then given at the end of the season during a special presentation on the field before a game.

Awardees date back to 1966, when the “Favorite New Oriole” award began, and continue through present day.

Mychal Givens (in full Orioles uniform), the Orioles Way Award winner in 2019, is presented the trophy by 2019 Oriole Advocates President Larry Miles and is surrounded by other Oriole Advocates members, all dressed in identical short-sleeve polo-type shirts. All are standing on the infield of the ballpark and looking up at the camera.
